Tabletop Curling – Rules for 2 Players
Objective:
Score more points than your opponent by sliding your stones closest to the centre of the target (the “button”).
Setup:
Place the curling board on a flat surface.
Each player chooses a colour – red or blue.
Each player takes 4 stones of their colour.
Decide who goes first (coin toss, rock-paper-scissors, or youngest player starts).
Gameplay:
Players take turns sliding one stone at a time from the shooting end of the board towards the target.
Stones must be released from behind the shooting line.
Stones can hit opponents’ stones to knock them away from the target.
Once all 8 stones have been played, the round is scored.
Scoring:
Only one player can score in each round.
Points are awarded for each of your stones that is closer to the centre than your opponent’s nearest stone.
Scoring:
1 point per stone inside the blue ring.
2 points per stone inside the red ring.
3 points if a stone is on the button (centre circle).
If no stones are in the rings, no points are scored.
Winning the Game:
Play to an agreed number of rounds (e.g., 5 rounds) or first player to reach a set score (e.g., 15 points).
The player with the highest score at the end wins.
Optional Fun Variations:
Knockout Curling: Only stones in the target at the end of the round survive.
Sudden Death: First player to score wins
